Dr. Sarah Godding
Managing Veterinarian

I grew up in St. Cloud, Minnesota, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Cloud State University in 2009, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota in 2013.

I have been working in the twin cities since graduation and am excited to join Woodlake’s team. I thoroughly enjoy being a veterinarian and always try to be helpful and empathetic.

My veterinary interests include surgery, dentistry and internal medicine. Outside of work, I like being outdoors, reading and spending time with my husband and our cat, “Panda”, and lab mix "Bindy".

Dr. Julie Roguski

I grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska, and earned my bachelor of science degree there, then moved to the Twin Cities in 1985. I graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992, and have been here at Woodlake since 1994. I currently live in Prior Lake with my husband and eleven year-old son, and a husky named, "Willow". I dabbled with acting and stand-up comedy before becoming a mother and veterinarian.

Dr. Sarah Bourn

I grew up in St. Michael, MN. I received a Bachelor’s Degree from Iowa State and graduated with a DVM degree in 1999. I have worked at a few clinics in the Twin Cities area before joining Woodlake Veterinary Hospital in 2006. I enjoy interacting with the clients and their pets. I also enjoy doing surgery. I currently live in Burnsville with my husband Mark and 2 sons, McKinley and Noah. We have three cats and hope to add a dog when the children are older. My hobbies include cross-stitch, collecting Disney movies, and collecting coins from other countries.

Dr. Denise Nelson

I have been working in the veterinary medical field for the past 25 years. I started out doing kennels at Park Pet Hospital in St. Louis Park and then moved up to reception and veterinary assistance. I attended the University of Minnesota and attained a DVM degree in 1990. Following graduation I worked at several different clinics before coming to Woodlake as a part-time/on-call vet.

Some of my hobbies I enjoy are dog training, camping, hiking and spending time with my two dogs and one cat.

My favorite part of the job is keeping pets happy and healthy and helping sick and injured animals get better. I also try to create a fun and relaxed environment for my co-workers, clients and their pets to enjoy. I especially like making my co-workers and clients laugh. I try to enjoy life to the fullest.

Dr. Luanne Wendland

I was born and raised in Southern Minnesota. I did my undergraduate studies at Purdue University and graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. (Yes that is about 40 years of practicing veterinary medicine). I have also proudly served in the US Army Reserves. I have a special interest in both the routine and the challenging cases when working with dogs, cats and horses. I have been a breeder and exhibitor of American Saddlebreds, and also show my American Hackney Roadster Pony "My Kryptonite". Last year one of the horses I bred became the World Champion of Champions in the Amateur Three Gaited Division in Louisville, Kentucky, which of course was a big thrill for me. I love working with clients and the pets they entrust to my care and the outstanding care of all my co-workers at Woodlake Animal Hospital.

Dr. Ericka Funfsinn

I grew up in Illinois about an hour west of Chicago. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Zoology from Michigan State University in 2008 and then went to live in Boston and worked at a large veterinary referral center. There I discovered my passion for veterinary medicine. While working, I obtained my Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology and became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2010. I had a desire to keep doing more so I went back to school and graduated with my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota of 2016.

After graduation, I began my career as an Emergency Veterinarian. I love the work but I have been missing the long term veterinarian-client-patient bond that comes with working in general practice and helping a patient grow and be healthy from young to old. I was lucky enough to find a position at Woodlake Veterinary Hospital that will help fill this hole for me.

I live in Woodbury with my husband, toddler, twin baby girls, dog, two cats, two birds and two fish tanks. I like to keep busy! In my free time, I like to read and clean my house. As a family, we enjoy camping and hiking/walking the trails around our house. We also like traveling and look forward to being able to do more of this as our girls grow.
