I grew up in Red Wing, Minnesota, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After graduation, I moved to St Thomas, US Virgin Islands, where I managed an ecotourism company for six years. After moving to Washington, DC, I managed several educational programs at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo for five years.

I currently live in Lakeville, MN, with my husband, three children, dog, cat and bearded dragon. We love being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with family.
