Dr. Bella Kappenman grew up in Brookings, South Dakota. She earned both her undergraduate degree in Animal Science and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota (Go Gophers!). After spending many years in Minnesota, she is excited to continue calling the Twin Cities home as she begins her clinical career at Woodlake Veterinary Hospital.

Her professional interests include dental health and surgery, preventative medicine, and end-of-life care. She is particularly passionate about building lasting relationships with clients and believes the best care comes from working together to create thoughtful, individualized treatment plans for their furry family members.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Kappenman enjoys paddle boarding with her English Springer Spaniel, Maisie, along with hiking and camping throughout Minnesota and beyond. She also loves attending live music events, biking around the metro area to explore local businesses, and spending time reading, baking, and gardening.
